Renalls Pawnbrokers first opened its doors in 1890 making it one of the oldest established pawnbrokers in Essex.

The business has lived through two world wars and in those difficult times customers pawned such items as sheets, towels and clothing. We still have ledgers dating back from the early years (if you ask a member of staff they will be happy to show you)

We run a friendly and confidential service with a private room to give our customers privacy. We lend money against gold and platinum jewellry, watches and other interesting items. Our trained staff will assess your items and offer you a loan to borrow against them. (proof of identity will be required.)

Monday to Saturday: 9.30am to 5.30pm
Four Sundays before Christmas only: 10.30am to 4.00pm
